It was in 1970 that the first Christ Gospel missionaries of Germany took to the pioneering work of sharing the Bride's Message. Bernard and Nelda Minert began sharing the Bride's Message with mostly servicemen. These early services took place in a rented house of 17 rooms where they would house these servicemen during the weekends along with sharing with them the blessed Crucified Way Message. Talk about hospitality! It was during those years, recalls Nelda Minert, that they traveled between two army bases in their overloaded Volkswagon to take the Message to the early converts there. One of those converts included Travis Takami. Brother Takami recalls his time as a serviceman and coming across the Message as a dynamic experience. He states that when he first met Sister Nelda Minert he declared that there must have been a light bulb in her head creating the glowing light that radiated from her. The power of the Message and the impact of the testimonies of these missionaries, drew him with such strength that he knew he there was no turning back. Upon the completion of his time as a serviceman, Brother Takami moved to Jeffersonville where he resides today. The thrill of the Message that touched his life back in Germany, remains alive. Today, Germany is headed up by Reverends Martin and Debbie Douglas. The excitement of the Crucified Way is that it never grows dim, and such is the case with the Douglases. cause of the great love and surrender that has been manifested among its leaders. This year, a new group has started in Bamberg, Germany. The opportunity surprisingly came about when one of the saints from the Church in Ramstein experienced being excommunicated from a small fellowship group for sharing the Truths of the Crucified Way. Sister Bailey rejoices for that day, for it was then that she happened upon a place to rent that would be the humble sanctuary for the new Bible study. Those who had taken interest in hearing about this "Growing up in Christ" would be her starting congregation. Reverend Douglas and the Church in Ramstein have been working to support the group and help it move on its way. Within the past month, the small group in Bamberg visited the Church in Ramstein for a weekend revival. It was a glorious time in the LORD that turned into a baptismal service. Two ladies from the Bible-study group were baptized and one received the Holy Ghost. Reverend Douglas himself is planning to host a Bible study in the hospital chapel where he works for one hour each week. The LORD has opened the door and he is stepping inside. Those who are being touched during the eleventh hour, no doubt, feel the strong tug of the Holy Ghost to press on in the Stature of Jesus Christ, just as the early Church in the 70's did. It all works to prove the reality that the Truth never loses its life and magnetism for those who are called.
